the great I Am.

Life has been busy, good, wonderful, overwhelming, full of life, draining, and everything in between lately. Thankful for my wonderful husband (of almost one year, Sunday--don't worry, there will be a super sappy emotional post this weekend) for walking through the chaos with me.

I started grad school in August and it has been SUCH an amazing experience so far. I love my classes. I have loved my teachers and the groups of people I've met and I LOVE WHAT I AM LEARNING ABOUT!  My bible classes were always my favorite in college, but I guess it never donned on me that I yearned to learn more about the bible (crazy, huh haha).

Monday night (my weekly class) we walked through the book of John and talked through all of the statements that Jesus uses "I Am ____" and discussed what each of those statements was and just talked about WHO Jesus IS! It was so life-giving and SO eye-opening. It made me want to go see Jesus TODAY and just be with Him and learn and ask questions and sit in His almighty presence.  Needless to say, I left class beaming and couldn't wait to tell Andrew all about it.

4:26: I am the Messiah
6:35: I am the Bread of Life
8:12: I am the Light of the world
8:21-28: I am the Son of Man
8:56-58: I AM
10:1-18: I am the Gate
10:14: I am the Good Shepherd
11:25: I am the Resurrection and the Life
14:6: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life
15:1: I am the Vine
18:1: I AM

I think just it's the most beautiful picture of Jesus! Looking to Him as our light, guidance, sustenance, savior, protector, sacrifice, path, connection to God, AH EVERYTHING!!! He is everything!!!!!

I want to be close, close to Your side
So Heaven is real and death is a lie
I want to hear voices of angels above
Singing as one

Hallelujah, Holy, Holy
God Almighty, the Great I Am
who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the Great I Am

I want to be near, near to Your heart
Loving the world and hating the dark
I want to see dry bones living again
Singing as one

Hallelujah, Holy, Holy
God Almighty, the Great I Am
who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the Great I Am

The mountains shake before You
The demons run in fear
At the mention of the name, King Of Majesty
There is no power in hell
or any who can stand
before the power and the
Presence of the Great I Am

Seasons.

Seasons come and seasons go.

Yet another summer season is rapidly coming to an end, and what a great summer this has been. God has been so gracious with His rest and life and I am so thankful for the past few months of renewal and joy!

It's been a slow-ish summer and Andrew and I have had alot of time to just be and because of that, I am more excited and ready for the new year to start!  Every other day, I get a little more anxious/nervous/terrified about starting Grad school and work at the same time, but God keeps reminding me constantly that this is just another day and that He is going to walk with me throughout it all!!!

This season has been so sweet and even though I will mourn (yes, I just said mourn) over this season (first year of marriage, our first home, our slow and restful summer, etc) being over, I am so looking forward to the fresh start of a new season. We heard some great wisdom from some friends recently about recognizing each season as it comes and being ready for the busy-ness or enjoying the peace when you're in the middle of those seasons.  Thankful for that advice and hoping that we can remember it mid-September when we are wading through busy-ness and changes :)

Holding tight to the lyric from United Pursuit:

I will climb this mountain
with my hands wide open.

# VacationWasAwesome

Andrew and I went to Gulf Shores with my sweet family a few weeks back...
and it. was. awesome.
I might deem it my favorite family vacation we've ever gone on.. 1. Kyndall was just a thought last time we went to the beach together and this time, she was ADORABLE. 2. Married vacations are way better than dating vacations and 3. My sister and I were best friends and it was awesome.
Seriously, I felt so blessed to get to spend the week with her and it was so fun to watch her and Stacy love and teach sweet little Kyndall!!!

The week was awesome. Wish we got to have more 'normal life' with our families. It was so fun babysitting one night (yes, my sister let me and Andrew babysit... but we did send lots of pictures and videos haha) and even the simple things like going to the grocery together are the things I miss the most about living in the same city, though I would have never admitted that when it was actually possible. Miss running errands together and meeting for supper and all the random things you get to do... but thankful we got to spend the week together.

oh, and did I mention that we have the cutest niece in the whole world? No? well, we do. Seriously. She is so adorable and learning so much and I love how curious she is. She has a little drama in her, but I wouldn't think she was my sister's child if she didn't have a little spunk in her somewhere :)

She was an awesome traveller on the way down there :)... and no she didn't ride like this whilst driving.

 Loved her snuggle time!!

Babysitter night :)... She is mezmorized by Elmo and Sesame Street. I'm trying to cope with the fact that she can't quite say 'keela' but can say a perfect "EhMo" :)

Double Date to walmart and the Wharf :)

cue "Camera Camp Goes to the beach:"

Tara, don't be mad... It was too funny not to add.

Peek-A-Boo! :)

Look at those curls!!!!!!

Love my love.

We definitely had her heart with our sweets :) it was rare that Andrew or I didn't have something sweet to share. Just trying to be the best Aunt and Uncle we can be ;)

ah. Melt my heart. Love her little giggles.

Last day on the beach

So thankful for my sweet sister. #lovelanguage

Happy Sunday :)

Also, some fun news (no, I'm not pregnant): We are moving!!! :) :) Let the mourning period over our first home begin, but come September, we are moving down the street into a two bedroom condo! We are so excited and have already been obsessed over every project we want to do dreaming about what our new home will be like :) Happy happy day :)

London, baby!

Soooo remember that time Andrew and I travelled to LONDON, ENGLAND with AMAZING students and it was AWESOME!?!?!?! yeah, me too. Let's talk about that.

Couldn't help but think of FRIENDS while we were there! London, baby!!

We have been blessed beyond measure in the past couple of months and I genuinely can't wait to see what God is doing. I am completely confident that God is really doing some big things in us right now, and for that I'm thankful.

We were invited by Dr. and Mrs. Lowry to help lead the trip to London with the new Freshmen coming to Lipscomb in the Fall from Lipscomb Academy.  It took us all of 25 seconds (along with some sadness for missing friends/family weddings) to decide we couldn't pass up this awesome opportunity.  So, about a month later, we boarded the plane with 32 students and headed over the pond!!!

I wish I could begin to express the amount of love we had for each of the students we travelled with. I genuinely have zero complaints about our week together and am so so SO ready for them to be on campus next year! Seriously.  I love them.

Andrew and I, of course, LOVED the city.  What a beautiful place of history, culture, and beauty.  We did almost everything we wanted to do/see... so I'll guess we will have to go back someday! :)

Andrew is the best GPS that's ever existed and is the most amazing leader. I loved watching him lead the students (and let's be honest... me, too) around the city and lead them in joyful servanthood.  He. Is. Awesome.

I wish I could write everything out... but pictures are better probably. Overall=no complaints whatsoever. Loved the city. Loved our students. Loved spending time with Dr. and Mrs. Lowry. Bah. It was just incredible.

(LEFT) The view from our Flat (real name. I'm not just being trendy) in Regents College! We stayed in the dorms at Regents College which is located INSIDE of Regents park. No big deal.

King's Cross Station from Harry Potter (or from real life, but Harry Potter drew us there)

Our group!!! (Minus Dr. and Mrs. Lowry)

Platform 9 3/4

First time we saw Big Ben

Parliament

London Eye on the 1st day! We were so exhausted after staying up for over 24 hours!!! #WorthIt

Headed to Buckingham Palace!

Buckingham Palace Changing of the Guard

Free time: Walking bridge over to the EYE!

Definitely didn't have to tell us twice.

Inside the London Eye! You could see the entire city. It was awesome.

Not bad, behind the National Gallery!

First academic class with Dr. Lowry! These guys did GREAT with the Socratic Method of teaching. I would have tucked my tail and fled. (not really, but maybe.)

Lunch at Middle Temple and then toured the Inns of Court!

Tower of London!!! We saw the Queen's Crown jewel's and the torture places!
(scawey... and awesome)

We took ALOOOT of selfies. Don't judge. Andrew hated it. I loved it. Got the job done.

Tower Bridge.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Theater night #1: Saw the longest running play in the world! The Mousetrap.
We have discovered I LOVE the theater! I knew I liked it, but I was on the edge of my seat everytime!!!!!!!

Tuesday we went to Cambridge!!

They split Isaac Newton's apple tree (gravity... google it) into three parts.
This is part of it at Trinity College, where we attended Cambridge University!

Punting Tour!!! One of my favorite moments, by far! #HopelessRomantic

After Evensong at King's College. Amazing night.

our fearless leaders before Phantom of the Opera!!!! Loved spending time with each of them and it was such a blessing to watch them lead and love on the students!!!

Blurry phone selfie #67, but a good memory nonetheless.... Picadilly Circus after Phantom!!

Train ride to bath (right) and the Roman Baths (left)
They were built around 70AD!!!!!!! Wow.

In Bath, this is the oldest house/restaurant. Sally Lunn knows how to make bread. Wow. I have craved this little guy every day since we went! I'm actually lusting after it right now as I type this.

Selfies in Bath for coffee and at the Silver Cross Pub!! Fish and Chips were DELICIOUS :)

Back in London after our day trip to Bath. Went to see the sights at night! :) Beautiful.

Only 85% of my photos taken were of Big Ben. Oops.

Friday was our 'go-as-fast-as-you-can-to-see-it-all' day!
Westminster Abbey tour, Bella Italia for lunch, Hamley's (largest toy store in the world),
Top Shop (to curve my 'I want to buy stuff in London' issue), Niketown, Ride a double decker bus,
Hyde Park, and ride bikes in Hyde Park!!!

Westminster Abbey tour! Andrew, obviously above, wasn't up for another selfie.
He deserves for this to be on the internet.

Hyde Park! It was so beautiful and we had the BEST time riding bikes :) :)

The trip back was fine and those sweet students were ready to be home, I think!
Jetlag wasn't too bad, but we don't mind going to sleep by 8:30pm haha

Cheers!!!
